FATQs (Frequently Asked Twin Questions)

After the initial “Twins?!? ” reaction, I have become accustomed to a series of questions by the strangers we encounter each day. Here are a handful of them.

Are they identical?
Yes.

A boy and a girl?
See above. Also, note that many people don’t understand the definition of identical.

Do twins run in your family?
My husband’s family has a history of identical twins, including two of his lovely aunts. While I’ve heard that identical twins are not hereditary, I feel like it is a pretty big coincidence.

Do you think you may have accidentally switched them at birth and now they go by the wrong name?
No, but thanks for the paranoia. This was a fear at first; resulting in them sporting their hospital bracelets a bit longer than what is probably normal. I even purchased the two “manliest” nail polishes I could find with the intent of painting a toenail on each. However, by that time we could easily tell them apart, so it did not come to that. They have, at least to us, continued to look more unique each day.

Do they play well together?
Does strategically stealing toys count? Then yes. Also, I have some questions. Like why is there always only one “good” toy? And why is it my pastry brush?

Are you having any more?

Have any other twin questions? Share them in the comments! I’d love to answer in a future post…or really anywhere other than Hannaford.
